The first section of the expressway in the Opolskie Voivodeship was opened on 24 July 2023. The S11 road, which also serves as the Olesno bypass, is already used by drivers.
The section opened on Monday is approximately 25 km long, from Kolonia Ciarki to Łomnica, along the border of the Opole and Silesian Voivodeship.
In the future, the entire S11 route will connect Kołobrzeg with Pyrzowice, making it easier to travel between the north and south of Poland.
The contractor in charge of this task was a consortium of Mirbud S.A. and Kobylarnia S.A., and the total project is worth over PLN 760 million.
