The tunnel under the Świna Strait has been opened! On 30 June 2023, the ceremonial opening of the tunnel was attended by representatives of the Polish government and of all parties involved in the investment project.
Now, tourists and residents of Świnoujście no longer need to use the ferry crossing to get to the city. The tunnel has significantly reduced travel time to this seaside resort.
The ceremony was attended by, among others:
- Lafrentz President Maciej Durski with Contract Director Anna Jędras, Resident Engineer Jacek Król and his colleagues
- CEOs of Contractor companies: Bülent Özdemir (Gülermak) and Piotr Kledzik (Porr) with the Construction Manager, Contract Manager and the crew
- President of Sweco – Maciej Chrzanowski – with which we formed a consortium to provide the Consultant service, and Contract Engineer Bogusław Konopko
- Mayor of Świnoujście Janusz Żmurkiewicz with First Deputy Barbara Michalska
- government representatives: Deputy Minister Jarosław Kaczyński, Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk
