Construction has begun on the Oświęcim bypass (9km), part of the S1 road from the Kosztowy junction to Bielsko-Biała. As part of the task, a dual carriageway from the S1 to the existing national road 44 will be built (along a new route). Three bridges will be built: over the Vistula, the Soła and the Młynówka, as well as a railway overpass. The contract is scheduled to be executed over 36 months.
The investment is being carried out by Budimex at a cost of PLN 467.6 million and supervised by Lafrentz?
Ultimately, the entire S1 road will be 135 km long. It will become an express connection from the state border in Zwardoń to Pyrzowice Airport and the A1 motorway.
